Women's Swimming And Diving Falls To UConn 155-146

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's swimming and diving team (4-4, 1-1 BIG EAST) fell to BIG EAST rival the University of Connecticut 155-146 in a highly-competitive meet Saturday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
Junior Nina Suryoutomo led the Eagles with two individual first-place finishes, both coming in sprint-freestyle events. Suryoutomo took home top honors in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, finishing with times of 24.59 and 53.72, respectively.
Suryoutomo joined sophomore Michelle Lane and seniors Lauren Schwartz and Alexis Kostopoulos in winning the 200-yard medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:49.84. Suryoutomo, Kostopoulos, sophomore Joanne Paleo and junior Caitlin Klick were victorious in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.56.
Freshman Kathleen McCann had a strong showing in the 100-yard backstroke taking first place with a time of 1:00.97. Schwartz won Boston College's only other individual event as she took first place in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 58.81.
The women's swimming and diving team is back in action on Friday and Saturday, November 30 and December 1, in the Northeastern University Invitational in Boston.
