Glenn Allen, VA - Boston College senior defender Amelie Wulff (Dusseldorf, Germany) earned a spot on the 2001 STX/NFHCA Division I All-America third team as announced today by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The honor is a first for Wulff.
The NFHCA selects three teams of 16 members each from the list of winners from five Regional All-America teams. First team members from the Midatlantic Region, the Mideast Region, the Northeast Region, the South Region, and the West Region were eligible for the national All-America team.
Wulff was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year after a season that included seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Last season, Wulff earned a spot on the NFHCA Northeast Regional All-America second team. This is her first appearance as a national All-American.
The Eagles finished the season at 11-8 overall and 4-1 in the BIG EAST.
