Wrestling Squad Competes at Bearcat Open

Binghamton, N.Y. - The Boston College wrestling squad traveled back to New York this weekend to compete in the Binghamton Bearcats Open at Binghamton University.
Evan Williams, following an impressive performance last weekend at New York University, defeated Justin Hach (unattached) by a tally of 7-5. Williams was defeated in the second round by Hartford's Nick Plearsie. The score of Williams' final match was 3-0.
In other action for Boston College, Ricky Merritt defeated Anthony Marconi 5-2 before being pinned by Mike Trolla at 5:30 in the second round of the 133 pound championship bracket. In the consolation bracket, Merritt proceeded to pin Todd Paradino at 4:48 before defeating Carl DiCosano 4-3. Merrit was defeated in the fourth round by Boston University's Joey Rivera by a major decision, 16-3.
The Eagles will compete next at the East Stroudsburg Open in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 17. Matches are slated to begin at 9:00 A.M.
