CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - For seniors Lindsey Marshall, Meghan Moore, Meghan Buckley, Rachel Parri and Morgan Page, it will be the end when it comes to playing regular-season games at Newton Campus Soccer Field on Wednesday. The Boston College women's soccer team will honor its five seniors prior to Wednesday's contest with Ivy League foe Brown University at 2 p.m.
While this will be final regular-season home game for these five players, it will not be the last game for them at Newton Campus Soccer Field. The Eagles will host Rutgers University in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4. Admission will be free for the quarterfinal matchup.
Boston College (9-8-1, 3-2-1 BIG EAST) looks to extend its two-game winning streak against Brown (3-8-1, 1-4-0 Ivy League), a team the Eagles defeated last year 2-1 in Providence. Boston College enters Wednesday's game ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA Northeast Poll, which means this game is important in trying to keep its hopes alive for a berth to the NCAA tournament.
Moore and midfielder Sarah Rahko are tied for the team lead in goal, both having scored eight apiece. Rahko and Moore have also accounted for 50 percent of the team's assists. Rahko has tallied eight, while Moore has chipped in with four. Midfielder Carolyn Iacobelli has been solid for the Eagles on the offensive end. She stands third on the team with 12 total points, which has come about through four goals and four assists.
Since taking over the goalkeeper duties back on September 28 against St. John's, Elyse Meredith has been one of the reasons for the Eagles turnaround. Meredith has recorded four shutouts, including a 2-0 shutout of then No. 9 ranked Connecticut.
