This is the time when we have to gather all of our emotions and truly face the challenge. We have dug ourselves a pretty deep hole being 1-3-1. In the past week, we have played Dartmouth and Providence.
Dartmouth was our first home game. The entire team was excited to finally be playing again after 2 weeks off. We came out strong in the first few minutes, owning most of the possession and placing a few shots on goal. As soon as Dartmouth scored their first goal, our intensity dropped. We were an entirely different team from when we first stepped on the field. It wasn't until the second half that we attempted to put our minds back into focus and play to win. Unfortunately, our energy and determination in the second half didn't result in a victory. The final score was 3-0, Dartmouth.
Dartmouth was a loss that we didn't expect and that we can only place in the past. Providence was our next game. The game was supposed to be played on Friday but got postponed until Sunday because of bad weather conditions.
Providence came out with more intensity than we did on Sunday. After the first 25 minutes we dictated most of the game. We had plenty of opportunities but had a very difficult time finishing them. The game went into double overtime and ended as a 2-2 tie. We are extremely disappointed in the outcome of this game, but learn from our mistakes and focus on the next game.
We were supposed to play a make up game against University of Rhode Island, but it got canceled because of the rain.
Well, I think I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say that I am tired of having games cancelled or postponed. We are in the best shape we have ever been in and are so ready for our next opponents. I feel like this weekend will be the beginning of our team's turn around. Every single one of us has an incredible desire to win. We are sick and tired of losing and are going to put an end to it. The team is ready to give anything it takes to win the rest of our scheduled games. We are going to take it one game at a time and work ourselves back into the races. Our first victim is St. John's on Friday.
