Springfield, Mass. - The Boston College wrestling team competed against American International College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology this weekend in a dual meet competition in Springfield, MA. The Eagles defeated MIT by a tally of 33-10, but fell to AIC 27-18. In the only other match of the tournament, AIC defeated MIT 30-11. Boston College's dual meet record presently stands at 2 wins and 6 losses, whie their ECWA record remains 0-2.
Wrestling particularly well for the Eagles was senior Dave DeAngelo. DeAngelo, wrestling in the 149 pound weight class, pinned AIC's Shawn Flowers at 3:58 and MIT's Jack Willard at 4:38. DeAngelo's overall record improved to 6-4 following this weekend's events. Junior Jared McLaughlin also picked up two wins today. McLaughlin pinned AIC's Vincent Bryant at 3:52 and defeated MIT's Kip-Johann-Berkel 5-2 to improve his overall record to six wins and nine losses. Senior captain Steve Pregiato defeated Henry Sandoval (AIC) 7-5 and picked up a second win via forfeit to increase his overall record to 12-10.
The team will travel next to Binghamton, NY, to compete against Binghamton and Ithaca Universities on February 3rd and 4th.
