Field Hockey Tops Yale, 2-1

Boston College used two successful penalty corners to upend the visiting Yale Bulldogs, 2-1, at Alumni Stadium. Junior Amelie Wulff had a goal and an assist, while senior co-captain Jen Hall had two assists in the win.
With 24:05 remaining in the first half, Yale committed a foul in the circle and Boston College set up for it's penalty corner. Senior co-captain Morgan Brady passed out to Hall who stopped for Wulff, who then ripped a shot past Yale keeper Krissy Nessburg. Yale answered back with a corner goal of their own, when Liz Gardber put a shot in from Caroline Thompson and Nicole Davis.
In the second half, the Eagles controlled play, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-3. Sophomore Liz Flood netted the Eagles's second goal when Wulff passed off to Flood on the corner attempt. Hall was the stopper again.
Senior keeper Jill Dedman made five saves in the win for her fourth shutout of the season. Nessburg stopped 10 shots in the loss.
Boston College improved to 6-3 on the season and will next face Providence on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in their first BIG EAST game of the season. Yale fell to 0-6 on the season with the loss.
