Field Hockey Falls to Northeastern, 4-0

The 13th-ranked Northeastern field hockey team used goals on four of its seven penalty corners to down the visiting 14th-ranked Boston College Eagles at Parsons Field. Junior Kelly Williams book-ended the scoring and added assists on the other two Husky goals and keeper Kathleen Madaus earned her fourth shutout of the season as Northeastern moved to 5-2 on the season. Boston College fell to 5-3 with the loss.
Northeastern opened the scoring in the game's fourth minute on its first corner attempt. Williams' initial shot looked wide, but hit the cage post and deflected into the goal, behind Eagle keeper Jill Dedman. Sarah Broderick and Aleisha Bemis tallied assists on the score. On the game's next corner, Catriona Semple netted a score, assisted by Bemis and Broderick. The Huskies took a 3-0 halftime lead when Fior D'Alize Arrindell took a feed from Williams and netted the score. Northeastern's final goal came at the beginning of the second half as Williams again teamed with Broderick and Bemis to record the game's final score.
The Eagles were stood up with a tough defensive effort by the Huskies and made only a handful of trips into the circle in the game.
Madaus made 4 saves in the win, while Dedman stopped 7 shots in defeat.
Boston College next faces Yale on Sunday, Sept 24, at 2 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
