Eagles Women's Soccer Defeats Central Florida 2-0

Orlando, Fla. - The Boston College women's soccer team scored twice in the second half to down Central Florida 2-0 tonight. Courtney Schaeffer made four saves to pick up her third shutout of the season.
The Eagles (5-2 overall) went up 1-0 in the 71st minute when Katherine Halloran (Hanover, Mass.) beat UCF keeper Maria Banuls with a shot off of a Rachel Klemanski (Farmington, Conn.) cross. nine minutes later, Collleen Danaher (Rockford, Ill.) added the insurance goal off of a Meghan Moore (Santa Barbara, Calif.) corner kick. Moore also had the secondary assist on the Eagles' first goal. The Eagles outshot the Golden Knights (2-6 overall) 13-6 in the match.
Schaeffer, a senior co-captain for the Eagles, dropped her goals-against average for the 2000 season down to 1.33 in picking up her 30th career shutout.
The Eagles' next match will be Sunday, Sept. 17, when they travel to Coral Gables, Fla. to take on the University of Miami. Game time will be 1 p.m.
