Boston College hockey standouts Brooks Orpik and Krys Kolanos, first-round selections in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, have both decided to return to Boston College for the 2000-01 season.
Orpik was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (18th overall), while Kolanos was taken with the next pick -- 19th overall -- by the Phoenix Coyotes.
Orpik, a 6-foot, 3-inch defenseman who just completed his sophomore season at Boston College, registered 10 points -- one goal and nine assists -- in 38 games in 1999-2000. He missed three games during the season while playing with Team USA in the IIHF World Junior Championship in Sweden.
Kolanos, a 6-foot-2-inch forward, earned HOCKEY EAST All-Rookie Team honors in 1999-2000, tallying 32 points -- 16 goals and 16 assists -- in 42 games in his freshman season.
