Women's Tennis Closes Out Season With Victory

The women's tennis team closed out the 1999-2000 season with a win over the visiting Brown Bears, 8-1. The team swept the singles matches and lost only one double match to improve its final record to 9-12 overall.
All six singles players extended winning streaks with the victory. Junior Cynthia Tow holds an 11-match streak and will soon await word whether or not she has been selected to participate in the NCAA Championships. Classmate Kiren Fernando will carry a six-match streak into next season, while senior Barbara Privrel will graduate undefeated in her last six. Senior co-captains Mercedes del Valle and Kim Arbuckle will leave the program with a five and three-match streak, respectively.
