Eagles Fall to Irish, 13-10

The women's lacrosse team fell, 13-10, to Notre Dame in a match played in blustery conditions at Alumni Stadium this afternoon. Boston College fell to 4-6 with the loss, while Notre Dame improved to 4-6.
The Fighting Irish opened the game scoring four straight goals to hold a 4-0 lead with 23:00 remaining in the first half. But, Boston College posted its own 4-0 run and evened the score at 4-4 with 17:00 remaining in the half. Sophomore Lauren Miller notched the team's first goal and junior Honor Crowther posted the Eagles' second goal, assisted by Miller. Junior co-captain Emily Ryan tallied the next two goals.
Notre Dame and Boston College traded the next six goals to bring the score to 7-7, but with :25 left in the half, the Irish's Maura Doyle scored to hand Notre Dame an 8-7 halftime lead.
Kathryn Perrella increased Notre Dame's lead to 9-7 when she scored off the second half's opening draw. Boston College answered on Miller's third goal of the game but the Irish quickly regained the two-goal lead on Alissa Moser's tally.
Miller notched her fourth goal with 21:55 left, but Notre Dame proved too strong in the closing minutes, adding three insurance goals to bring the final score to 13-10.
Irish netminder Tara Durkin faced 20 shots on target and registered 10 saves, while Valerie Leuchs stopped 12 of the 25 shots she faced.
Boston College will next face Connecticut on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium. Notre Dame travels to Duke to face the Blue Devils on Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m.
