Boston College's Men's and Women's Fencing Teams travelled to Sacramento, CA, to compete in the Under-20 Junior Olympic Championships. Freshman David Moyston, seeded 110th after the first round, performed spectacularly for the Eagles. He knocked out the 19th seed and went on to place 31st in the epee event, which had 149 competitors. Moyston's top-32 place finish earned him a national ranking of 68 in the Junior standings.
Among other notable BC performances was Zakee Howard's 46th place finish in men's epee (149 competitors), Steve Sztuk's 67th place finish in men's sabre (113 competitors), and Peter Bratney's 144th place finish in men's foil (163 competitors).
Upon the Eagles' return to New England, they will be hosting the New England Championships at Boston College. The date of this competition is set for the 27th of February.
