Eagles Drop 17-8 Decision to Yale

Behind four goals from Heather Bentley and three apiece from Amanda Walton and Sarah Queener, the Yale University women's lacrosse team defeated Boston College, 17-8, this afternoon at Alumni Stadium. Yale moved to 7-1 on the season, while Boston College dropped to 3-5.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring just a minute into the game when Kate Flatley notched her first goal of the game. Boston College answered quickly as sophomore Liz Herr netted her second goal of the season one minute later.
Yale scored three successive goals to open a 4-1 lead before sophomore Chrissie DeMichele tallied her first of the day's three goals to bring the Yale advantage to within two. But, the Bulldogs scored four unanswered goals to close the first half with a 9-3 lead.
Boston College opened the second half with a goal from senior Susan Pitt, but Yale again posted three straight goals to bring the advantage to 12-4 with 21:00 left in the game. The Eagles scored again, but Queener added three straight goals to extend the Yale lead to 15-6. Boston College added two goals in the closing minutes on scores from Pitt and freshman Kathleen Gallagher, but Yale closed all scoring with 1:00 left to play.
Boston College travels to Fairfield on Friday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m., while Yale next plays at Princeton on April 8 at 2 p.m.
