Men's Track Runs at Connecticut Invitational

The men's track team finished fifth at the Connecticut Invitational hosted by UConn on April 8 in Storrs, Conn. The team accumulated 25.5 points.
Senior Brian Shafer earned a third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase with his 9:31 and freshman Brian Mahoney ran fifth with a 9:51.
Freshman Matthew Green placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with his 57.94, while sophomore Nate Buttrick ran fifth in the 3000 metes (9:04).
In the field events, freshman Gabe Verdaguer placed fifth in the high jump with a leap of 6'2". Senior Jason Pink claimed second in the pole vault with his 13'6" attempt. Freshman Joe Miller earned a sixth-place showing with his 20'8" long jump. Sophomore Tony Bierne captured third in the discus with his 139'1.5" haul.
The men's track team will next compete at Dartmouth on April 15 in Hanover, N.H.
