
Three Women's Ice Hockey Players Earn ECAC Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College's Jen Buckley (Greenwich, Conn.) was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star Honorable Mention Team this week. Accounting major Heather Lombardo (Barrington, R.I.) and elementary education and studio art major Kristin Campbell (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.) earned ECAC All-Academic Team honors. Each student-athletes completed at least one academic year and achieved above a 3.0 grade point average, after playing in at least half of the games.
Buckley, BC's lone representative on the All-Star list, scored eight goals and added seven assists for 15 points in ECAC play. She compiled a team-high 14 goals and 10 assists for all games in the 2000 season.
The junior captain strung together a hot streak, contributing at least one point in eight contests from Nov. 28 - Jan. 22. In that stint, Buckley totaled seven goals and six assists, helping BC to a 4-3-1 record. The forward exploded for four goals against Vermont in the Eagles' 6-1 win over the Catamounts Dec. 29, becoming the third Eagle to tally four goals in a game. That effort was also her third hat trick. She notched two hat tricks during her freshman season.
She completed the 2000 season, BC's sixth year as a varsity program, third in overall career points with 108. She surpassed Laura Traynham as the Eagles' second-leading point-getter in ECAC action with 69 points.
