Ryan and DeMichele Notch Two Goals Apiece in Eagle Loss

Junior Emily Ryan and sophomore Chrissie DeMichele each tallied two goals, but the women's lacrosse team dropped its March 22 contest to the home Boston University Terriers, 11-6.
The Terriers opened an early advantage on a score by Kristen Abruzzese :37 seconds into the game. They extended the lead to 4-0 before sophomore Lauren Miller put a goal past the Terriers' goalkeeper.
BU then added to its lead with two more goals before the Eagles notched a pair of scores by senior Susan Pitt and Ryan. BU posted two more goals to hold an 8-3 halftime lead.
Boston College held the Terriers scoreless for the first 15 minutes of the second half and brought the score to within three, 8-5, with 20 minutes left on goals by Ryan and DeMichele.
DeMichele scored her final goal with 3:00 remaining in the game, but Boston College had already secured the victory.
Eagle goaltender Valerie Leuchs stopped a career-high 23 shots in the loss.
Boston College evened it record at 3-3 and will next travel to Monmouth on Saturday, March 25 at 11 a.m. in West Long Branch, N.J.
