Eagles Fall to Engineers of MIT

Boston College won its first and second singles matches against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on March 14 in Cambridge but fell, 5-2, to the Engineers. The Eagles lowered their season record to 5-6.
Anand Annigeri defeated MIT's top singles player, Eric Chen, in a three set match. The senior captain pulled out a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win. Junior Jason Cowett took the second singles match against Derek Tsu in three sets after dropping the opening set, 3-6, 6-0, 6-2.
In the closest match, sophomore Colin Kennedy won the opening set of the fifth singles match in a toe break, lost the second set, then dropped the third set tie-break.
The Eagles will next face Marist on Friday, March 24 at the Flynn Complex on Boston College's campus at 3 p.m.
