Women's Hockey Falls At Wisconsin 8-1

MADISON, Wisc.--The Boston College women's ice hockey team was defeated by the University of Wisconsin-Madison 8-1 today in Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisc. Leading the Badgers with two goals and two assists was Kerry Weiland.
Opening the scoring at 7:22 in the first period, Weiland scored her first goal unassisted. The Eagles answered back less than five minutes later with a Kelly McManus goal at 11:08 in the first period. Assisting on McManus' seventh goal of the season- the team leading scorer- was Gen Richardson.
Wisconsin's game winning goal came at 17:18 in the first half when Meghan Hunter scored from teammate Sis Prolsen. In the second period the Badgers scored two goals and the remaining 4 goals came in the third period.
In goal for the Eagles was junior Amy Coletta who picked-up 38 saves in the game. Wisconsin's Jackie MacMillan picked up 13 saves and the win.
The Eagles will return to action tomorrow, December 10, when they rematch Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin at 2 p.m est.
