Wrestling Competes at Bearcat Open

Binghamton, N.Y. - The Boston College Wrestling Team competed in the 2000 Bearcat Open today, their first meet of the season. There was no team scoring at this event. In individual competition, however, the Eagles' own Dan Degan advanced to the final round in the 174 weight class. Degan claimed second place in his weight class, falling to Hofstra's Ron Anspach by a score of 11-8. Degan went 3-1 on the day. Co-Captain Steve Pregiato also performed well for the Eagles. Pregiato went 3-2 in the tournament, defeated by BU's Mark Laramee in the semi-finals of the 140 lb weight class.
The Eagles' next scheduled event is to be held next Saturday at East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. There will be no team scoring at this event.
