Boston College Hockey Signs Three Recruits

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Three high school seniors have signed national letters of intent to play hockey at Boston College next season, according to an announcement made by Eagles' head coach Jerry York.
John Adams, a 6-foot-2-inch defenseman from the Breck School in Golden Valley, Minn., Ryan Murphy, a 5-foot-11-inch forward from Huron High School in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Ryan Shannon, a 5-foot-9-inch forward from the Taft School in Watertown, Conn., will enter Boston College in the fall of 2001 and begin their collegiate playing careers in the 2001-02 season.
Adams, who resides in Wayzata, Minn., tallied six goals and 30 assists for the Class-A State Champion Breck Mustangs last season. He earned all-state and all-conference honors.
Murphy, currently playing with the U. S. National Under-18 Team, scored 11 goals and added 18 assists with the U. S. National Under-17 Team last season.
Shannon played the 1999-2000 season for the Taft School in Watertown, Conn. He scored 23 goals and 22 assists in the center position, leading the team to a 20-1-3 record. Shannon was a member of the U. S. Under-18 Select Team that competed in the Four Nations Tournament this past summer in Kezmarok, Slovakia.
Boston College is currently 8-2 and ranked second in the nation.
