Fencing Attends First Dual Meet Of Season

Medford, MASS. - The men's and women's teams competed today in a dual meet at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Johns Hopkins, Wellesley and Army were also present at the tournament.
The men's team went 2-1 in team competition, defeating Army 15-12 and Johns Hopkins 17-10. The team fell to Tufts by a score of 14-13. The women's team finished the day at 3-1, defeating Army 19-8, Wellesley 19-8, and Johns Hopkins 19-8. Tufts handed the women's team their one loss on the day, defeating the Eagles by a score of 15-12.
Senior Regina Lennox was 10-2 on the day in epee. Sophomores Kate Boyle and Gena Koufos were 9-3 and 8-2, respectively, in epee as well. In women's foil, senior Michelle Guevera was 9-2. On the men's side, freshman foilist Corban Rhodes had an excellent day, going 8-1 in his first dual collegiate meet.
With two starters out with injuries on the men's team, and two women's starters abroad this semester, BC's strong performance today are a great sign for their upcoming season. he teams will compete in another dual meet, this one held on December 2 at Brandeis University.
