Boston College senior goalkeeper Jill Dedman earned BIG EAST field hockey Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 15. In two games this week, Dedman allowed only two goals while making 33 saves in a 1-1 week for the Eagles.
In Boston College's first game this week against eighth-ranked Connecticut, Dedman stopped a season-high 19 shots, while allowing only two goals in the double-overtime thriller. Dedman's performance kept the Eagles in the game while they were under a heavy offensive attack from the Huskies. The Orange, Conn. native has a .853 save percentage this season, making 110 saves on 129 shots. She sports a 1.31 goals against average and five shutouts in 14 games this season.
Boston College is 9-5 on the season and ranked 13th in the nation by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 when Harvard travels across the Charles River to play at Alumni Stadium at 7 p.m.
