CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College Men's Tennis team rolled to victory over New Hampshire 7-0 at the Recreation Complex tennis courts Wednesday afternoon. Led by senior captain Jason Cowett, the Eagles won all six singles matches and two out of three double's matches against the Wildcats. Freshmen Justin Slattery and Paul Colahan each won single's and doubles matches, as did Cowett and junior Marc Lucero. Senior Chris Mercurio and junior Colin Kennedy rounded out the singles matches with victories of their own.
The doubles teams of Slattery/Cowett and Lucero/Colahan ensured the doubles point by winning their matches 8-2 and 8-3 respectively. Freshman Ross Pytko and sophomore Damon Vartabedian faltered in their doubles effort, which was the Eagle's only lost match of the day.
This is the Eagle's second shutout this season and improves their overall mark to 2-1.
Men's Tennis will be in action again on this weekend at the University of Connecticut Invitational, which runs from Friday, Oct. 15 through Sunday, Oct 15.
