Field Hockey Shut Out at Syracuse, 4-0

Sophomore midfielder Kristin Aronowicz scored two of Syracuse's four second-half goals to help the Orangewomen to a 4-0 victory over the 14-th ranked Boston College Eagles. It marked the greatest margin of victory for Syracuse against the Eagles in a 5-0 triumph in 1990.
Kristen's older sister Michelle Aronowicz, a junior forward, scored the game's first goal at the 32:31 mark of the second half. She tipped in senior forward Laura Fitzpatrick's crossing pass from the right wing.
The Orangewomen were awarded a penalty stroke with 25:36 left to play and Kristen Aronowicz was chosen to take the shot. She put a low, hard shot in to the right of Eagle keeper Jill Dedman to hand Syracuse a 2-0 lead. The penalty shot was the first against the Eagles in 2000.
Kristin Aronowicz netted her second score of the game with 10:06 left as she took a feed from Colleen Cech. Becky Kohler with posted Syracuse's fourth goal :45 remaining to play. Dedman saved Kohler's initial shot, but then she scooped up her own rebound for the score.
Audrey Latsko had six saves for her fourth career shutout.
Boston College is now 7-4 on the season and 1-1 in BIG EAST action. Syracuse is 7-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Eagles will next travel to the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday, Oct. 4 for a non-conference game against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. in Kingston, R.I.
