CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College sophomore forward Angela Hutchins (Wolfesboro, NH) made the most of her opportunities knocking in a pair of loose balls to propel the Eagles to a 5-1 victory over Radford in championship-round action of the 1999 Boston College Field Hockey Tournament.
Hutchins scored the first goal of her career 16:24 into the match, putting home a bouncing ball to the right of the Radford goal. Boston College (2-0) scored its second goal less than 10 minutes later as senior Kellie Misiaszek (Greenland, NH) scored off a penalty corner on assists from Morgan Brady ( New Milford, CT) and Amelie Wulff (Dusseldorf, Germany).
The Eagles would score three more times in the second half with Wulff, Hutchins and Gina Dinan (Skowhegan, ME) all putting the ball past Lady Highlander goalkeeper Brooke Peterson.
The Eagles, whose stingy defense enabled them to hold a 17-6 shot advantage, recieved another strong outing from senior goalkeeper Jill Dedman (Orange, CT) who picked up her second win of the season.
The Eagles will take to the road for a 7:30 p.m. battle with in-state rival Umass-Amherst in a game to be played Wednesday, Sept. 8.
