Field Hockey Battles Hard In Setback

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Playing its first BIG EAST Conference game of the season, the Boston College field hockey team fell to Providence 1-0 Wednesday afternoon.
Senior goalkeeper Jill Dedman (Orange, Conn.) was again stellar registering 12 saves in the loss.
Providence scored 1:36 before halftime on an unassisted goal by Breanne Wojnarowicz. The Friars held a 20-9 shot advantage for the contest. Freshman forward Kim French (Shrewsbury, Mass.) led the Eagles with four shots on goal.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday, Oct. 4 in a game slated for 1 p.m. at Alumni Stadium against Syracuse.
