Field Hockey Prevails In Extra Session
September 22, 1999 | Field Hockey
French took a feed from Jennifer Hall (Brewster, N.Y.) and proceeded to rifle the ball past Huskies goaltender Kathleen Madaus to cap a furious second-half Eagle rally.
Trailing 2-0 heading into the second half, Boston College gained all the momentum as Gina Dinan(Portland, ME) scored an unassisted goal just two minutes in. With eight minutes remaining in regulation and Northeastern clinging to a 2-1 lead, Boston College responded with Angela Hutchins (Wolfesboro, N.H) putting away a pass from Kellie Misiaszek (Greenland, N.H.) to send the game into overtime and set the stage for French?s heroics.
Eagle senior goaltender Jill Dedman (Orange, Conn.) produced yet another stellar performance, turning back 12 Huskies shots in the process.
The win snaps a three game Boston College losing skein and evens the season record at 4-4. The Eagles will return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. by hosting American University at Alumni Stadium.
