CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - - Sophomore Morgan Page (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) netted her fourth and fifth goal of the year to lead the Boston College Eagles over #13 James Madison (NSCAA) 4-1 Friday in the JMU/Sheraton Four Points Hotel Tournament in Harrisonburg, Va. The Eagles, who were listed as 23rd nationally in the same poll, have defeated their second ranked opponent in three tries. Their only loss came at the feet of #8 University of Hartford, which stole a 1-0 overtime victory.
BC posted three goals within ten minutes in the first half. Eagle flanker Jillian Livolsi (Northport, N.Y./Northport) took advantage of a mishandled ball by JMU goalkeeper Suzanne Wilson, to score her first goal this season on an open cage from 10 yards out, beginning the game's scoring at 11:03. Page then scored on a header off a cross from Mary Guarino (Plantation, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) at 17:07. She was then fed by Guarino at 20:30 to score on a breakaway. On the heels of her first collegiate hat trick, Guarino's two assists augmented her team-leading total offensive production to 13 points with 5 goals and three assists.
A header by Katherine Murphy (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) off a Meghan Moore (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) corner kick at 39:54 pushed the BC lead to 4-0. JMU's only goal came with 1:42 left in the first half, when Christy Yacono knocked a short-range shot past BC goalkeeper Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman), who finished with 5 saves on the day.
The Tournament continues Sunday (Sept. 19) when #20 Richmond meets Boston College at noon followed by JMU vs. Villanova at 2 p.m.
