The women's soccer team finds itself ranked for the first time in the history of the program, checking in at No. 10 in the Soccer America Women's Collegiate Top 20 and No. 23 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Division I National Ranking.
The Eagles, 2-1, are coming off an impressive week that saw them bow to No. 7 Hartford 1-0 in overtime before defeating then-No. 10 (Soocer America) Dartmouth 2-1.
Alison Foley's team will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 15 when it takes on Central Connecticut State University at 3 p.m. The game will mark the first time Boston College will make use of the new Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The Eagles' field hockey team is ranked 18th in the first STX/NFHCA poll of the 1999 season. The Eagles, which finished the 1998 campaign with a No. 8 national ranking, received 87 votes in the poll voted upon by NFHCA-member coaches.
