Women's Soccer falls to Villanova, 2-1

Villanovas Sarah Rowland scored the game-winning goal off a direct kick in the 89th minute to lead the Wildcats to a 2-1 victory over Boston College in a BIG EAST match played in Villanova, Penn.####The gamewinner was Rowlands second goal of the game. After a scoreless first half, she tallied the games first goal in the 64th minute.
BC freshman Morgan Page (Westerly, R.I.) scored the equalizer at the 80:10 mark off an assist from junior Mary Guarino (Plantation, Fla.). It was Pages 13th goal of the season. Rowland countered with her second goal of the game with 1:40 remaining in regulation.
Sophomore Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, N.Y.) made seven saves for the Eagles. Villanovas Janel Schillig made ten saves for the Wildcats.
Boston College falls to 8-5-2 overall, 4-3-2 in the BIG EAST. Villanova improves to 6-6-2 on the season, 2-4-1 in the conference. The Eagles return to action on Sunday, October 18 at 1 p.m. when they face conference rival Rutgers.
