FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Boston College freshman Morgan Page (Westerly, RI) notched her first collegiate hat-trick to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils at Bowditch Field in Framingham, Mass.
After a scoreless first half, Page scored the first goal at 52:08 when she broke free behind the defense and powered the ball past Sun Devil goalkeeper Kristin Slater. Junior Mary Guarino (Plantation, FL) assisted on the goal.
Page's second goal came in the 64th minute when she took a pass from freshman Meghan Moore (Santa Barbara, CA) that skipped over the head of Slater. Page netter her third goal at 71:30 off a pass from junior Janice Collein (Garden City, NY).
Boston College sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, NY) recorded her first shutout of the season while making five saves. Slater made two saves for ASU.
Boston College improves to 1-1 with the victory, while Arizona State drops to 3-1. The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, September 11 at 3 p.m. when they host James Madison University at Natick High School.
