Boston College sophomore Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, N.Y.) made eight saves to preserve a scoreless tie with BIG EAST foe West Virginia in Morgantown, W.V.
Schaeffer has recorded eight shutouts this season, six consecutive in BIG EAST action. It was her third shutout of the week.
The Eagles outshot West Virginia 27-18. The Mountaineers Stacey Adams made 16 saves.
Boston College moves to 7-3-2 overall and 4-1-2 in the BIG EAST. West Virginia moves to 6-3-1 on the season, 3-3-1 in conference games. The Eagles return to action on Friday, October 9 when they host BIG EAST rival Notre Dame at Natick High School.
