Boston College junior Brandy Manza (Tacoma, Wash.) scored two second-half goals to lead the Eagles over Georgetown, 3-0, in a BIG EAST match played at Harbin Field in Washington, D.C.Sophomore Katie Murphy (South Windsor, Conn.) began the scoring in the 27th minute with her first career goal. Junior Mary Guarino (Plantation, Fla.) notched the first of her two assists on Murphys goal.
Manza gave the Eagles a 2-0 advantage 40 seconds into the second half when she powered a Guarino cross into the net. Manza capped the games scoring at 75:17 with an unassisted goal.
Sophomore Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, N.Y.) made six saves to record her ninth shutout, seventh in BIG EAST action. Georgetowns Abby George made three saves in the first half. The Hoyas Shereena Chang played the second half and made one save.
Boston College moves to 10-5-3 overall, and finishes the BIG EAST regular season with a 5-3-3 record. Georgetown falls to 4-8-1 on the season, 1-8-1 in the BIG EAST. The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, October 28 when they travel to Providence, R.I. to battle Brown University in the regular season finale.
