Chestnut Hill, Mass-Senior Genevieve Missirlian (Northbrook, Ill.) netted her first hat trick of the season and added two assists to lead Boston College past Colby College 10-0, in womens hockey action Sunday afternoon at Kelly Rink.
BC got the scoring under way at 4:41 of the first on a short handed goal by senior Erin Magee (Troy, N.Y.). Magee lit the lamp for the 24th time this season and it was her second short-handed goal of the year. Senior defensemen Carroll McCaffrey (New Canaan, CT) scored the first of her two goals on a power-play at 19:43 of the first to take the Eagles into the lockeroomup 2-0. BC was a perfect three for three on the power-play.
The Eagles controlled the game throughout and finished off Colby with six goals in the third. Missirlian finished the scoring at 15:15 of the final period on an unassisted goal to secure the hat trick.
In the net for the Eagles was junior Christy Nentwig (Chesterfield, MO) who made 16 saves to pick up her second shutout of the season.
Boston College will be on the road next weekend when they travel to Northeastern on Saturday for a 4 p.m. start, and on Sunday they will play at Harvard. Game time on Sunday is 2 p.m.
The Eagles will return home the following weeekend to end the regular season. On Saturday Boston College will host Providence College at 3 p.m and on Sunday they will conclude the season with Brown starting at 2 p.m.
