Women's Basketball Defeats Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Boston College women's basketball team improved its record to 4-0 with a 71-45 victory at the University of Hartford. Senior center Whitney Steele led the Eagles with 21 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward Alissa Murphy netted 10 points and freshman guard Brianne Stepherson added nine points for the Eagles.
With the score tied at 10-10 with 15:10 remaining in the first half, Boston College went on an 18-2 run and never trailed in the game again. The Eagles continued to pull away and led Hartford, 38-22, at halftime. Steele scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in the first half to lead the Eagles. Hartford opened the second half with a 10-3 run, and a three-point field goal by senior guard Tracy Stolle cut the Eagles' lead to nine points with 16:53 left in the game. Boston College rallied with a 13-2 run that secured the victory for the Eagles.
Stolle finished as Hartford's top scorer with 14 points. Desiree Humbert pulled down 14 rebounds for the Hawks.
Boston College returns to action on Friday, November 27, when the Eagles host Toledo at 7:00 p.m.
