Two Players Earn All-BIG EAST Second Team Honors

Two Boston College women's soccer players-- sophomore Sarah Powell (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Morgan Page (Westerly, R.I.)-- earned 1998 All-BIG EAST Second Team honors. The awards were announced at the BIG EAST womens soccer banquet in Vernon, Conn.
Powell was a consistent force on the backline for the Eagles. She proved to be one of the team's best all-around players, adding two goals and one assist, while marking the opponent's top offensive threats. Powell scored the game-winning goal against St. John's and tallied the opening goal in a win over Brown.
Page, also a unamimous selection to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team, led BC in goals (16) and points (35). She netted five gamewinners, including the decisive tally in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinal victory over Seton Hall. Page registerd two hat tricks and had four games with two or more goals.
Boston College finished the regular season at 11-5-3 overall, 5-3-3 in the BIG EAST. On November 3 the Eagles captured a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Seton Hall in the BIG EAST quarterfinal match. They return to action in the BIG EAST semifinals on November 6 at 10 a.m. in Storrs, Conn. against third-ranked Connecticut.
