Softball drops Two to Hofstra

Chestnut Hill, Mass-The Eagles dropped two games to Hofstra University on Thursday afternoon to drop their record to 5-11.
In game one BC could only muster four hits. The Eagles were led by junior Chris Vicari(Totowa, N.J.) ,who went 2-3 and scored a run.
Hofstra got on the board first in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead. BC tied the game in the top of the fourth when Jen Lombardi(Canton, OH) doubled in Vicari, who led the inning of with a double of her own.
Junior Mary Dietz(San Manuel, AZ)picked up her fifth loss of the season. The right-hander pitched a complete game giving up four runs on 10 hits, while striking out eight.

In the second game the Eagles out-hit Hofstra eight to four, but HU took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when they scored on an error by Dietz. Junior Cristin Brown (Playa Del Rey, CA) went 3-4 to up her season average to .163.
Junior Gretchen Thompson(Brea, CA) got the loss, pitching five innings giving up two runs on four hits, striking out three.
