Seven Fencers Finish in Top 10 at New England Invitational

Boston College junior Jeff Marston (Morristown, NJ) took first place in the men's epee event at the New England College Fall Invitational on Saturday, November 6th, defeating Mark Dembitz of Brown University 15- 12 in the gold medal bout. Jeff is the first BC fencer to win this event at the Fall Invitational. Other significant results include junior Greg Shea's (Westfield, MA) silver medal in men's foil and senior Luke Mountain's bronze in men's sabre.
Other top 10 finishers for Boston College include junior Zakee Howard (Newark, NJ), taking 5th place in men's epee, with junior Bobby Kim (Wyckoff, NJ) and senior Neil Mendelow (Norwich, NY) tying for 10th. Rob Cutler, another BC finalist, placed fifth in the men's foil event.
Followimg this great outing for BC Fencing, the team will be opening up their season on November 20, 1999, as they face off against Johns Hopkins and Tufts at Brown University (Providence, RI).
