SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - Whitney Steele scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half Wednesday as No. 22 Boston College rallied to beat Seton Hall 60-55.
The Eagles (16-3, 8-3 Big East) struggled early one game after the biggest win in school history - a 78-66 home win over Connecticut on Saturday.
After trailing 31-27 at the half, BC appeared to get on track, as Steele scored eight points in an 18-2 run to open the second half to make it 45-33.
But the Pirates (5-14, 2-9), who have lost five in a row and eight of their last nine, fought back, outscoring BC 9-2 late in the game and tying the score at 55 on Yolanda Rouse's 3-pointer with 2:13 to play.
But those were the last points Seton Hall would score. Brianne Stepherson hit two free throws with 1:55 remaining to give the Eagles the lead for good.
Alissa Murphy followed with a jumper with 35.9 seconds left mark and Stepherson added a free throw with 3.5 seconds to play to wrap up the victory.
Murphy finished with 14 points for the Eagles with 12 coming after the intermission while Becky Gottstein added 10 and 14 rebounds. Susan Murray and Starr Fuller each had 10 for Seton Hall.
