No. 10 Field Hockey Stops Stanford 4-1

Chestnut Hill, MA--- Senior Katie Gentile (Kittery Point, ME) scored two goals and added an assist to lead the No. 10 Boston College field hockey team over Stanford 4-1. The Eagles improved their overall record to 11-2. The Eagles first goal of the night was scored by senior tri-captain Joy Ramsbotham (Melvin, NH) at the 33:45 mark in the first half. Ramsbothams goal was on a double assist from seniors Anne Marie Ambros (Bridgeton, NJ) and Janis Cornwell (Wolfeboro, NH). The Eagles entered the half with a 1-0 lead. That changed nearly seven minutes into the second period on Gentiles first goal of the night, off a double assist from junior Kellie Misiaszek (Greenland, NH) and freshman Gina Dinan (Portland, ME). The Cardinal cut the lead to 2-1 off a goal by senior Monique Leroux; yet the Eagles never let the Cardinal get any closer. Junior Julianne Marrone (Holden, MA) scored off a Gentile pass with 10:39 left in the game. Gentile finished off her fabulous night with a goal at the 5:09 mark, off of a pass from Ambros. The Eagles next go on the road to face Holy Cross on Sunday at 2:30 pm. The final Boston College home game is next Wednesday, October 21 against Harvard. Game time is 7:30 pm
