Field Hockey Wins Regular Season Home Finale

CHESTNUT HILLS, MA -- In the seasons final home game, the No. 6 Boston College field hockey team was led by its seniors in a 3-1 victory over Harvard. The win upped the Eagles record to 13-2 overall.
Senior tri-captains Joy Ramsbotham (Melvin, NH), Anne Marie Ambros (Bridgeton, NJ) and Gabrielle Beig (Haddonfield, NJ) connected on the game winner with nearly 12 minutes left in the game. Beig put the ball in the net on a double-assist from Ambros and Ramsbotham. The games first goal was scored by sophomore Jennifer Hall (Brewster, NY) on a pass from senior Nicki Novocin (Mt. Airy, MD) . The Eagles took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Harvard tied the game with nearly 26 minutes left when Judy Collins snuck it past junior goalkeeper Jill Dedman (Orange, CT)
Ramsbotham scored the final goal of the game with two minutes left off a double assist from Ambros and senior Janis Cornwell (Wolfeboro, NH) .
Before their final regular season home game, the teams seven seniors were honored by head coach Sherren Granese. The team now travels to North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels on Saturday, Oct. 24 and then up the road to face Duke on Sunday, Oct. 25. The Eagles final BIG EAST game will be against Rutgers on October 31.
