MARRONE LEADS #7 EAGLES TO 2-1 WIN OVER #8MICHIGAN
Chestnut Hill, Mass.---Junior Julianne Marrone (Holden, MA) scored with 22 minutes left in the game to push No. 7 Boston College past No. 8 Michigan 2-1. The Eagles kept their perfect record intact, increasing their record to 6-0. For the first time all season, Boston College trailed at halftime. Michigans Loveita Wilkinson scored the games first goal at the 24:02 mark in the first half, giving the Wolverines an early 1-0 lead. The Eagles responded in the second half when senior tri-captain Katie Gentile (Kittery Point, ME) scored her third goal of the season off of a Maronne pass. Boston College goalkeeper Jill Dedman (Orange, CT) had another stellar game in the net, turning back 11 Wolverine shots. Dedman made many outstanding saves in the second half to protect the Eagle lead and help preserve the victory. Boston College next faces Northeastern on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Alumni Stadium. Game time is 7:30 pm
