Boston College Defeats Central Connecticut in OT, 4-3

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Boston College freshman Morgan Page (Westerly, RI) scored two goals, including the gamewinner in overtime, to lead the Eagles to a 4-3 win over Central Connecticut in New Britain, Conn.
BC junior Janice Collein (Garden City, NY) began the scoring six minutes into the game off an assist from freshman Meghan Moore (Santa Barbara, CA). Central Connecticuts Tracy Uellendahl tied the game in the 17th minute.
The Lady Blue Devils Jane McFarlane put Central Connecicut ahead 2-1 in the 43rd minute before Page knotted the score 2-2 with an unassisted goal at 52:19. Nine minutes later junior Mary Guarino (Plantation, FL) gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead on a penalty kick.
Central Connecticuts Gina DeSantis tied the game 25 seconds later. Both teams were scoreless until the 93rd minute when Page scored her sixth goal of the season. Guarino assisted on the goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Schaeffer (South Huntington, NY) made six saves for BC. Central Connecticuts Sarah Reginio made five saves.
Boston College improves to 2-2-1 with the win, while Central Connecticut falls to 1-4. The Eagles return to action on Friday, September 18 at 3 p.m., when they host BIG EAST rival Syracuse at Charles River United Field in Hopkinton, Mass.
