BC Drops 9-0 Decision To St. Lawrence

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - - St. Lawrence capitalized on four power plays en route to a 9-0 decision over host Boston College Saturday in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles (0-2-0, 0-2) are winless after two games while the Saints recovered from their first loss of the season (Dartmouth) to improve to 5-1-0 and 1-1 in the ECAC.
St. Lawrence scored three goals within the game's first five minutes. Stacy Boudrias (Boscawen, N.H.) netted two goals and assisted on two others to lead all Saint scorers. She connected on the game's first goal, assisted by Nicole Kirnan (Syracuse, N.Y.) 31 seconds after the opening faceoff. She converted her second tally on a power play, receiving feeds from Caroline Trudeau (Pointe Claire, Quebec) and Kelly Sage (Stirling, Ontario) at 4:36 into the first period.
Amanda Sargeant (Port Moody, British Columbia) had two goals, also taking advantage of a power play at the 2:37 mark in the second period. Trudeau posted a goal and two assists, and her teammate Nicole Kirnan recorded two goals and one assist. Other point contributors included, Sage, who recorded three assists for the Saints while Alison Coope (New Milford, Conn.) had two. Suzanne Fiacco (Norwood, N.Y.), Chera Marshall (Prescott, Ontario) and Kristina Heyes (Nepean, Ontario) all recorded one assist.
BC's Christy Nentwig (Chesterfield, Mo./St. Mark's) accumulated 20 saves before relinquishing the goalkeeping duties to Heather Cohen (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle), who let in three goals while making five saves.
St. Lawrence's Caryn Ungewitter (Rochester Hills, Mich.) made nine saves for the shutout.
BC plays at Brown Friday Nov. 12. Game time is at 7 p.m.
