CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College fell to visiting Rutgers 3-0 Sunday in the regular season finale for both teams. It was the second times in as many games that the Eagles have been shutout, dropping their overall record to 9-10 and 2-3 in BIG EAST play.
Rutgers tallied one goal in the first half and two in the second with Andschana Mendes and Kristin Fawcett doing the honors.
Boston College senior netminder Jill Dedman, finished with 10 saves giving her a BIG EAST regular season total of 74. The total places her second on the conferece?s all-time list for saves in a season. Only Georgetown?s Pat McKeon has recorded more saves in a season.
The Eagles, who entered the game already assured of a spot in the season-ending BIG EAST championships, finish third in the league. Boston College will travel to Syracuse for a semifinal-round meeting with the Orangewomen on Friday, Nov. 5. Game time is yet to be determined.
