Men's Tennis Falls to Connecticut, 5-2

Senior Anand Annigeri won both his singles and doubles matches in Boston College?s loss to Connecticut in men?s tennis action on Oct. 21. The Huskies defeated the Eagles, 5-2, on the courts at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
Annigeri, playing in the number one singles position, defeated Drew Broderick, 6-4, 6-0. Teaming with junior Jason Cowett, he won the top doubles match, 9-8, over Broderick and Mike Furman.
The other Eagle victory came at the third doubles spot, where sophomore Colin Kennedy and freshman Damon Vartabedian teamed to beat Po Phimvongsa and Bryan Adinolfi, 8-2.
In the second singles position, Cowett fell to Luke Grimshaw, 5-7, 6-7. Sophomore Marc Lucero lost his third singles match with Furman, extending the match to three sets before bowing, 0-6, 7-5, 2-6. Kennedy dropped his match to Phimvongsa, 4-6, 0-6 in the fourth spot. Senior Brad Hughes fell to Adinolfi in the fifth position, 2-6, 2-6. In the final singles match, freshman Greg Comfort lost to Max Zubatsky, 3-6, 2-6.
The second singles match also went to the Huskies. The Grimshaw and Adam Sadowski tandem defeated Comfort and freshman Phil Bulauitan, 8-1.
Boston College will next return to action on Nov. 4-8 when it compets in the ITA Eastern Regionals hosted by Princeton.
