Lou Tessier

- A walk-on to the Boston College Track Team. He developed into one of the Eagles’ finest performers, leading the squad in scoring in the spring of 1965 and elected team captain by his fellow student-athletes.
- A talented and versatile athlete, he tied school records in the 50-yard indoor dash (5.4 seconds) and the 100-yard outdoor event (9.7), and won the New England 100-yard championship as a senior. He also participated in hurdle, pole vault and sprint relay events as the Eagles competed successfully in the BAA Games, New York Athletic Club Invitational Meet, and Millrose Games in addition to Greater Boston League, New England and ICAAAA championship events.
- After graduation, he became an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Serving as a rescue helicopter pilot, he gave his life for his country in the Vietnam War in 1968. Following his death, his teammates established the memorial “Captain’s Trophy” given annually to the track team’s captains.
