Brian Leetch

Although he played but one varsity season (1986-1987) in Maroon and Gold, he unequivocally established himself as one of the greatest defensemen ever to play the game of ice hockey.
As a freshman, he captured All-America, All-Hockey East and All-New England tributes, as well as the Norman F. Dailey Award as BC's Most Valuable Player and the Walter Brown Award as the top American-born player in New England.
He had the honor of representing the United States in three Winter Olympic Games (1988, 1998 and 2002).
During an 18-year career in the National Hockey League, he was selected an All-Star 11 times; New York Rangers' MVP six times; twice earned the Norris Cup as the NHL's best defenseman; and won the Calder Trophy as NHL "Rookie of the Year" in 1989. He helped lead the Rangers to the 1994 Stanley Cup.
He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
