
Robinson Named to Preseason All-ACC Second Team

Eagles picked 14th on ACC Preseason Poll
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Jerome Robinson was selected to the 2017-18 Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team, it was announced today by the league office as part of the ACC's Operation Basketball event held this week in Charlotte.
Robinson - an All-ACC honorable mention a season ago - ranked fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 18.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game during the 2016-17 campaign. He reached the 20-point mark in 17 of BC's 32 games - which ranked first in the ACC and second among all major conference players. From Dec. 12 to Jan. 11, the Raleigh, N.C. native posted eight consecutive 20-point performances. He also led the Eagles in assists (108/3.4 apg) and steals (55/1.7 spg). He was the only player in the ACC to average at least 18.7 points., 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
He is joined on the All-ACC preseason second team by Bruce Brown Jr. (Miami). Quentin Snider (Louisville), Deng Adel (Louisville), and Josh Okogie (Georgia Tech). The first team is made up of Grayson Allen (Duke), Joel Berry II (UNC), Marvin Bagley III (Duke), Ben Lammers (Georgia Tech), and preseason Player of the Year Bonzie Colson (Notre Dame).
Boston College was picked to finish 14th on the preseason poll. Duke, defending national champion North Carolina, Notre Dame, Miami, and Louisville round out the top five. Each of those five teams earned at least one first-place vote on the poll.
The Eagles open the 2017-18 regular season on Friday, Nov. 10 when they host Maine at 7:30 p.m. at Conte Forum. The game is the first of two home tilts as part of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament.
